Guide · TikTok Spark Ads
TikTok Spark Ads safe zone what the ad covers.
By Antoni, founder · Updated
A boosted post keeps the file and changes the frame around it. Here is each new layer on a 1080×1920 frame, and how to deliver a cut that survives the boost.
- 76% of a bottom-third caption hidden
- 484 px Spark Ads bottom stack
- y 1436 where the Shop Now button starts
What a Spark Ad adds over an organic post
A Spark Ad keeps the organic post and adds to it: the bottom 484 px are covered instead of 350, a Shop Now or Learn More button sits at y 1436–1566, a Sponsored tag takes the top-left corner, and the right rail starts at y 538.
TikTok's own ads help says the covered area depends on the video's shape, the ad caption length and any add-ons, so treat these as the default layout, not a ceiling.
What the boost does to a bottom-third caption
A two-line caption at y 1382–1602 loses 76% of its area once the post runs as a Spark Ad, against 18% on the same post before the boost. Burned in CapQA's caption band instead, the same two lines lose 0%, because the band sits above the stack the boost adds.
How to deliver a cut that survives the boost
Put captions in the middle band, keep promo codes and prices off the bottom third, set the logo below the Sponsored tag, and send a clean plate beside the captioned master so the brand can re-cut the ad. Check the export against the Spark Ads layout before it leaves, not after the boost goes live.
01 Burn captions in the middle band
Two short lines centred on Y=1080. CapQA's caption band runs from y 916 to 1244, which leaves 192 px of air above the ad stack.
02 Keep codes and prices off the bottom third
A code at the usual lower-third height lands on the button, which starts at y 1436. Put it in the caption band or say it on camera.
03 Move the logo below the Sponsored tag
The tag covers y 0–96 on the left; a logo inside the 900×1400 safe zone (from y 260) is clear of it.
04 Send a clean plate with the captioned master
The same video without burned-in text lets a media buyer re-caption or re-cut the ad without asking you for a re-export.
Drop your export below. The check finds where the text in your video sits and scores how much of it the Spark Ads, Reels and Shorts interfaces hide. Nothing is uploaded.

Spark Ads safe zone, answered
Is the Spark Ads safe zone different from an organic TikTok post?
Yes. On CapQA's masks a Spark Ad covers the bottom 484 px (an organic post covers 350 px), adds a Shop Now or Learn More button at y 1436–1566, a Sponsored tag in the top-left and a right rail that starts higher, at y 538.
How much of a bottom-third caption does a Spark Ad hide?
76% of a two-line caption placed where auto-caption tools usually put it (y 1382–1602), against 18% on an organic post. The same two lines in CapQA's caption band lose 0%.
Where does the Shop Now button sit on a 1080×1920 video?
From x 86 to 966 and y 1436 to 1566, inside the 484 px bottom stack. Keep promo codes, prices and the end of any caption above y 1436.
Should a UGC creator deliver differently when the video will run as an ad?
Lay the captions out for the ad from the start — boosting a post does not re-edit the file — and hand over a clean plate alongside the captioned master, so the brand can re-caption or recut without asking for a new export.
